What Is Crossfit?
Crossfit Games is a weekly Crossfit competition where athletes compete for a $2,500 cash prize.
In addition to training in a CrossFit gym, participants compete for cash prizes at local gyms and other Crossfit-affiliated facilities, and earn credits towards future Crossfit competitions.
Crossfit originated in Portland, Oregon, in the 1990s.
In 2016, the gym relocated to a bigger facility in New York City.
The new facility, the CrossFit Center NYC, is expected to be ready to open in 2018.
What’s Crossfit’s Price?
CrossFit Games is currently the only Crossfit facility in the United States with a price tag.
For $2.99 per month, Crossfit members pay $8.99 a week in membership fees, plus a $5.99 “coupon” to the club.
That means Crossfit costs $3.99 for members, $5 for nonmembers, and $9 for those who do both.
CrossFit is also available through many fitness apps and other online retailers.
