Business Insider has partnered with Blue Origin to announce a $1.5 billion investment in new technology and robotics for the company’s commercial rocket launch vehicles.
The deal, which includes $250 million in technology and $200 million in capital commitments, will be funded by Blue Origin’s $1 trillion capital budget.
The company has a total of $1,000 billion in assets, according to the announcement.
Blue Origin is a New York-based aerospace and defense company with a mission to make spaceflight affordable and accessible to everyone.
Blue Origin announced its investment in April 2018, after the company had already been valued at $7.8 billion.
The rocket company has launched and landed more than 100,000 vehicles since then.
