Honda Power is in the midst of an intense, three-year rebuild process after being acquired by Ducati in a $3 billion deal.
The Italian company has been a major contributor to Ducati’s powertrain portfolio, but now, with Honda Power, Ducati aims to return to the top of the heap.
In an interview with Motorsport.com, Ducatich said: “We are disappointed to be the buyer of the powertrain of our rival, but we are confident in the product we have in our hands.”
We have built up a solid relationship with Honda and they are very supportive.
“As a manufacturer we are not satisfied with any particular component, we have to continue working on improving and improving our product.”
In the end we are going to return back to the best.
We will focus on our own engine and we will focus in the future on improving our motorcycle engines.
“A key part of the rebuild will be the purchase of engine parts and engines, including a number of the key components used in Ducati MotoGP bikes.
Honda Power also hopes to gain access to a number factory-developed parts that are still available for Ducati to use in the engine.”
“We have to find the best parts and we have the best technology, so we are very happy with what we have.””
The Ducati team will take a significant step forward in 2016 when it moves from Ducati Superbike to the World Superbike championship, but Troncheltti said he’s hopeful Honda will return to its best in 2017.””

“There is no doubt we will be better in the World Championship, but it’s not going to be easy,” he said.
“There are two parts to it, the World title and the championship.
The World title is very important for us, but in the championship we have other objectives.”
The main objective is to win the World championship and that’s why, as we move into the championship, we are planning to improve our engine and our bikes and also our racing.
“I think in 2017 we will win the championship.”
