Posted October 27, 2018 05:08:22The Sherry Knights are no longer a part of the Canterbury Rugby League and are retiring.
But the former team members are still very much in touch with the sport.
“We’re just going to miss them,” said former team member Chris Goss.
“It’s a sad day, but we’re not leaving this club.
We’re just moving on.
We’re going to have a new group of guys to take over, we’re going out on the field and we’re looking forward to that.”
You miss the people who played for you.
“While Sherry have been out of action for a few months, the Knights have not stopped playing since they won the NRL title in 2012.
The Sherries have been training at the Canterbury Cricket Ground and are preparing for the season ahead with a training camp in the Westpac Stadium in September.”
They’re all very keen to get back into the game,” said Canterbury Rugby league manager Steve Gower.”
The whole team are excited about it.
“The Sherrys are still keen to play in the NRL, but they are looking to move to the Pacific on a short-term deal.
